Yael Yael, the Australian who lives in New York City, played Lorna in Orange Is the New Black. Yael holds a master's diploma from NIDA. Yael enjoyed the privilege to have the opportunity to work with some of Australia's most renowned storytellers. She's worked behind the scenes on film, television and theatre. Yael is well-known as an actress in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael discovered her new location within New York City when the production premiered to acclaim at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Yael co-founded The Cannery. The Cannery is an Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages ideas in creative writing, as well as innovative creative projects and assists in the formation of new writers.
